9142 Rhesus           Discovered 1977 Oct. 16 by C. J. van Houten and I. van Houten-Groeneveld on Palomar Schmidt plates taken by T. Gehrels.
Named for the king of the Thracians and ally of the Trojans. He and his twelve companions were stealthily assassinated in their sleep by Odysseus and Diomedes.
