8942 Takagi           Discovered 1997 Jan. 30 by T. Kobayashi at Oizumi.
Japanese planetary scientist Yasuhiko Takagi (b. 1958) has investigated impact fragmentation phenomena and the origin of minor-planet families based on laboratory experiments. He also contributed to the Near-Infrared Spectrometer on board the Hayabusa spacecraft.
