7618 Gotoyukichi           Discovered 1997 Jan. 6 by T. Kobayashi at Oizumi.
Yukichi Goto (1896-1929), pioneer of civil aviation in Japan, was born in Nobeoka, Kyushu. He planned a transpacific flight, but he died in a plane crash while he was in training for his ambitious flight.
