6927 Tonegawa           Discovered 1994 Oct. 2 by K. Endate and K. Watanabe at Kitami.
Named in honor of Susumu Tonegawa (b. 1939), Japanese biologist who was awarded the 1987 Nobel Prize for medicine and physiology. He revealed the mechanism of genes that produce various antibodies.
