6612 Hachioji           Discovered 1994 Mar. 10 by Y. Kushida and O. Muramatsu at the Yatsugatake South Base Observatory.
Located 50 km to the west of Tokyo, Hachioji is the city where the first discoverer was born and grew up. It was formerly "the silk and textile city", but now that several colleges have been estabished or moved there it is called "the college city".
