6437 Stroganov           Discovered 1987 Aug. 28 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
Stroganov is the name of a well-known Russian family that exploited the iron and gold mines in the Urals. Astronomer Chappe d´Auteroche, on his return from Tobolsk (1762), was well received by one of the members of this family.
