4319 Jackierobinson           Discovered 1981 Mar. 1 by S. J. Bus at Siding Spring in the course of the U.K. Schmidt-Caltech Asteroid Survey.
Jackie Robinson (1919-1972) was the first black major league baseball player in modern times. He joined the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947 and was named league Most Valuable Player in 1949. After retiring from baseball he campaigned for civil rights and established a fund for minority scholarships.
