Sindbad was the legendary sailor from Baghdad who had numerous fantastic adventures during The Seven Voyages of Sindbad the Sailor as recounted in The Arabian Nights, a classic ninth century compilation of 1001 tales representing an amalgam of various events, both actual and mythical.
