31043 Sturm           Discovered 1996 June 11 by P. G. Comba at Prescott.
Charles-François Sturm (1803-1855) was a Swiss-born French mathematician. He proved a theorem that specifies the number of real roots of an algebraic equation that lie between two values of the variable. He also studied differential equations whose solutions form complete orthogonal sequences.
