24711 Chamisso           Discovered 1991 Aug. 6 by F. Borngen at Tautenburg.
German-French poet Adelbert von Chamisso (1781-1838), a member of the Prussian Academy of Sciences, paid particular attention to socio-critical connections. He was also a naturalist and a circumnavigator and is known as the author of a textbook on botany.
