24648 Evpatoria           Discovered 1985 Sept. 19 by N. S. Chernykh and L. I. Chernykh at the Crimean Astrophysical Observatory.
Evpatoria (Eupatoria) is one of the oldest towns in the Crimea. Founded in the fifth century B.C. by ancient Greek colonists, Evpatoria is now known as a health resort and cultural center. This minor planet marks the occasion of the 2500th anniversary of the town in 2003.
