Born in Tuscany, Roberto Benigni (b. 1952) is an actor and film director with an enthralling and provocative comic spirit that reaches everybody, thanks to his outstanding mimic ability. He received the Jury Grand Prix at the 51st Cannes Festival and three Academy Awards and seven nominations for La Vita Bella.
