Makoto Sakamoto (b. 1967) is a research fellow of the Nishi-Harima Astronomical Observatory. He worked previously as an engineer at a telescope manufacturing firm from 1993 to 1995. He was also well known as a youthful astronomy educator during his days as a university student.
