176711 Canmore           Discovered 2002 Aug. 17 by A. Lowe on plates taken at Palomar.
Named in 1884, the town of Canmore became one of the most important coal-mining centers in southern Alberta. During the 1988 Winter Olympics, Canmore hosted the Nordic events, and it has since become a major tourism destination.
