17606 Wumengchao           Discovered 1995 Sept. 28 by the Beijing Schmidt CCD Asteroid Program at Xinglong.
Wu Mengchao (b. 1922), academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is an expert and pioneer on hepatosurgery. He has established a unique system of liver surgery of China and led the development of hepatosurgery internationally. He won the China State Supreme Science and Technology Award in 2005.
