Ernst Ludwig Kirchner (1880-1938), painter, graphic artist and sculptor, was a master of German expressionism and cofounder of the artist circle "Die Bruecke". After 1917, he worked and lived in Switzerland. In 1937, his art was confiscated and classified as "degenerate" in Germany, driving him to suicide. |
