14871 Pyramus           Discovered 1990 Oct. 13 by L. D. Schmadel and F. Börngen at Tautenburg.
In classic literature, Pyramus and Thisbe are two lovers whose union is prevented by their opposing parents and whose lives end in a tragic double suicide. The two lovers are now finally united forever in the minor-planet belt. The name was proposed by H. Raab.
