14230 Mariahines           Discovered 1999 Dec. 7 by the Lincoln Laboratory Near-Earth Asteroid Research Team at Socorro.
Named in honor of Maria L. Hines for mentoring a finalist in the 2001 Discovery Young Scientist Challenge (DYSC), a middle school science competition. Hines is a teacher at the Orchard Day Home School, Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
