Georges Viscardy (b. 1917) is the founder of the Société Monégasque d´Astronomie and of the Observatoire de Saint Martin de Peille on the French Riviera. An inspiration for many amateur astronomers, he has dedicated his life to high-resolution imaging, producing a wonderful photographic atlas of the moon.
