13177 Hansschmidt           Discovered 1996 Apr. 17 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
Hans Schmidt (1923-2003) was the founder, together with Friedrich Becker (1900-1990), of the Hoher List observatory. He specialized in the observation and reduction of eclipsing stars. Later, he became general director of the Bonner Universitäts-Sternwarte.
