12972 Eumaios           Discovered 1973 Sept. 19 by C. J. van Houten and I. van Houten-Groeneveld on Palomar Schmidt plates taken by T. Gehrels.
Eumaios was the pig herder of Odysseus. When Odysseus returned to Ithaca, Eumaios helped him to conquer the suitors of Penelope.
