12301 Eötvös           Discovered 1991 Sept. 4 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
Loránd Eötvös (1848-1919) was a Hungarian physicist who played a leading part in Hungarian science for almost half a century. He is well known from his torsion-balance experiments, improving the limits on any deviation from the proportionality of inertial and gravitational masses.
