Prince Baldassarre Boncompagni (1821-1894) was editor of 20 volumes of Bullettino di Bibliografia e Storia delle Scienze Matematiche e fisiche. This monumental work, published in Rome during 1868-1887, was fundamental in the history of the mathematical and physical sciences, with many articles on the history of astronomy.
