Punahou School, an independent college preparatory day school founded in 1841 in Honolulu, is the largest and oldest coeducational, independent college preparatory school in the United States. Of the 400 yearly graduates, 99% go on to college. Living alumni number over 22~000, of whom about 45% live in Hawaii.
