11571 Daens           Discovered 1993 July 20 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
Adolf Daens (1839-1907), a Flemish priest at Aalst, will always be remembered for his dedication to fighting industrial exploitation of the Flemish people. Confronting great resistance from the higher clergy for his actions, in 1899 he was finally ordered to resign his office by the bishop of Ghent.
