Ignaz Jozef Pleyel (1757-1831) was an Austro-French composer who became famous as a piano builder. In 1795 he settled in Paris, where he founded a piano manufacturing company in 1807. The famous Polish-French composer Chopin preferred the Pleyel grand piano for performing his compositions.
