11063 Poynting           Discovered 1991 Nov. 2 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
British physicist John Henry Poynting (1852-1914) introduced a theorem in 1884 in which he stated that the energy flow at a point can be expressed in terms of the electric and magnetic forces at that point. The so-called "Poynting vector" can be used to determine the radiated energy flow in the vicinity of an antenna.
