Piergiorgio Odifreddi (b. 1950) is an Italian mathematician and logician. Fond of the history of science, he is also extremely active as a popular science writer and essayist. Professor of mathematical logic in the Department of Mathematics at the University of Turin, he has also taught at Cornell in the U.S.A.
