10617 Takumi           Discovered 1997 Oct. 25 by M. Hirasawa and S. Suzuki at Nyukasa.
Amateur astronomer Takumi Takahata (b. 1941) has created many computer programs that are used for astronomical calculations. The "measurescope" Takumi lent to the discoverers was used to determine the coordinates of this minor planet.
