10498 Bobgent           Discovered 1986 Sept. 11 by E. Bowell at the Anderson Mesa Station of the Lowell Observatory.
Robert Gent (b. 1947) is an enthusiastic amateur astronomer and International Dark-Sky Association volunteer. Now retired, he was a U.S. Air Force space systems officer, analyzing data from 61-cm infrared space telescopes in geosynchronous orbits. The name was suggested by D. R. Davis.
