10223 Zashikiwarashi           Discovered 1997 Oct. 31 by T. Urata at the Nihondaira Observatory.
Taking the form of a child with bobbed hair, Zashikiwarashi is a traditional spirit of the people of the Tohoku district. It haunts the Japanese-style rooms of old families. It is said that a family would be wealthy while the spirit lives and become poor when it leaves.
