11964 Prigogine           Discovered 1994 Aug. 10 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
Ilya Prigogine (1917-2003) was honored with the 1977 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his work on non-equilibrium thermodynamics. He was born in Moscow but moved to Belgium in 1929, where he studied and worked at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, especially on dissipative structures.
