8652 Acacia           Discovered 1990 Mar. 2 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory
Named for Acacia, belonging to the family Mimosaceae. Acacia mearnsii (mimosa) is a shrub with feathery leaves composed of many small leaflets. The strongly scented tiny yellow flowers are grouped in loose, rounded clusters.
