58605 Liutungsheng           Discovered 1997 Oct. 8 by the Beijing Schmidt CCD Asteroid Program at Xinglong.
Earth scientist and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Liu Tungsheng (b. 1917) made contributions to the understanding of the environmental change in East Asia over the last several million years. His Loess and the Environment (1985) received worldwide attention in the geoscience community.
