44711 Carp           Discovered 1999 Oct. 3 by A. Nakamura at Kuma Kogen.
The Hiroshima Toyo Carp, founded in 1949, is a professional baseball team. Operated with capital from citizens of Hiroshima for the first 20 years, they are known as a unique "municipal team". The Carp has won the Central League six times and the Japan Series championships three times.
