12353 Màrquez           Discovered 1993 July 20 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
Gabriel García Màrquez (1927-2014) was a Columbian novelist, considered as one of the most significant writers of the 20th century. He became well known for his novels One Hundred Years of Solitude (1967) and Love in the Time of Cholera (1980). He was awarded the Nobel prize for Literature in 1982.
