12291 Gohnaumann           Discovered 1991 June 6 by E. W. Elst at the European Southern Observatory.
Gottfried O. H. Naumann (b. 1935) is the director of the Universitäts-Augenklinik in Erlangen-Nürnberg and president of the International Council of Ophthalmology. He is considered one of the foremost ophthalmologists in the world and has received many honors.
