Pliska was the first capital of the Bulgarian state, founded in 681. The conversion into Christianity under Knayz Boris I took pkace in Pliska in 855. There he welcomed the disciples of the brothers Saint Cyril and Saint Methodius, creators of the Slavic alphabet. It is also the birthplace of the discoverer. |
