11774 Jerne           Discovered 1977 Oct. 17 by C. J. van Houten and I. van Houten-Groeneveld on Palomar Schmidt plates taken by T. Gehrels.
Niels K. Jerne (1911-1994) was a Danish Nobel laureate in medicine (1984), and he shared his prize with G. J. F. Köhler and C. Milstein. They received the prize for theories concerning the development and control of the immune system and the discovery of the principle for production of monoclonal antibodies.
