10227 Izanami           Discovered 1997 Nov. 4 by T. Kagawa and T. Urata at the Gekko Observatory.
Izanami-no-mikoto is the mythical goddess who descended to the island Onogoro with the god Izanaki and various other gods. After her death she was also called Yomotsu-ookami in the land of the dead.
