3729 Yangzhou           Discovered 1983 Nov. 1 at the Purple Mountain Observatory.
Situated between the Yangtze and Huai rivers, Yangzhou is the location of China's earliest canal, dating back to 486 B.C. During the Tang dynasty it was China's busiest metropolis and an important port on the Oriental Sea Silk Road.
