11852 Shoumen           Discovered 1988 Sept. 10 by V. G. Shkodrov and V. G. Ivanova at Rhozen.
Shoumen University was the second university in Bulgaria successfully to develop education in astronomy, largely as a result of contributions by the first discoverer. The second discoverer, who spent her early student years in Shoumen, also contributes to the development of astronomical education.
