API VERSION: 1.2 API SOURCE: NASA/JPL Horizons API ******************************************************************************* Revised: Oct 28, 2022 NEOS Spacecraft / (Sun) -33 https://neos.arizona.edu/ NEO Surveyor will carry out a five-year baseline survey to ... (1) find at least two-thirds of the near-Earth objects larger than 140 meters (460 feet); (2) assess the overall threat posed by potential Earth impactors; (3) assess the impact threat posed by comets; (4) determine the orbits and physical characteristics of the discovered objects The survey will operate from a northern halo orbit of the Sun-Earth L1 (inner) Lagrange point to include the population of objects nearer the Sun than Earth's orbit. Instruments One 50 cm (20 in) infrared telescope operating wide-field cameras at two thermal infrared wavelength channels for a total wavelength range between 4 um and 10 um. Field of view is 11.9 degrees^2. The spacecraft will have a sunshade and the detector will be passively cooled to -243 degrees C.
