API VERSION: 1.2 API SOURCE: NASA/JPL Horizons API ******************************************************************************* Revised: Mar 21, 2023 LICIACube Spacecraft / Sun -210 https://dart.jhuapl.edu/ https://www.nasa.gov/planetarydefense/dart NOTE: Updated with post-impact reconstructed trajectory from DART flight project. LICIACube ("Light Italian Cubesat for Imaging of Asteroids") is a 6U Cubesat that will piggy-back on the DART mission's ten-month cruise to the 65803 Didymos system. Released from DART several days before the impact, it will travel past the asteroid at a distance of 57 km roughly three minutes after DART impacts to confirm the impact, document the spread of the resulting plume, and attempt to capture images of the newly formed crater and the opposite side of Dimorphos. The spacecraft launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket out of Vandenberg Space Force Base in California on 2021-Nov-24 @ 06:21:02 UTC. SEC01 was 10 minutes after launch. SECO2 was ~20 minutes after that. Spacecraft/booster separation at 07:17:20 UTC. DART impacted Dimorphos on 26-Sep-2022 @ 23:14:24.183 UTC. PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS: - box, dimensions 10 x 20 x 30 cm, from which other structures - mass 14 kg - autonomous navigation - two light solar panels - 50 mN thrusters with ISP of 40s - two cameras - X-band radio system for direct communication with Earth TRAJECTORY: This mission reconstructed trajectory can be used as an observing center (use '@' prefix ) OR as a target (drop the '@').
