8330 Fitzroy           Discovered 1982 Mar. 28 by H. Debehogne at the European Southern Observatory.
British Naval Officer, hydrographer and meteorologist Robert FitzRoy (1805-1865) was captain of the HMS Beagle, which sailed around the world with Charles Darwin aboard as naturalist. FitzRoy was governor of New Zealand (1843-1848) and in 1854 established and directed what is now the British Meteorological Office.
