7157 Lofgren           Discovered 1981 Mar. 1 by S. J. Bus at Siding Spring in the course of the U.K. Schmidt-Caltech Asteroid Survey.
Gary E. Lofgren (b. 1941) is a planetary scientist and curator of lunar materials at NASA's Johnson Space Center. His pioneering work in experimental petrology provides clues to the formation of igneous rocks on the earth, moon and minor planets.
