Edward James Olmos (b. 1947) is an award-winning actor known for his roles as the dedicated teacher in Stand and Deliver and as Admiral William Adama in Battlestar Galactica. He is also a promoter of humanitarian causes, such as the Lives in Hazard Educational Project. The name was suggested by T. H. Burbine.
