David H. DeVorkin (b. 1944), Chair of the Historical Astronomy Division of the American Astronomical Society (1997-1999), wrote the definitive biography of astronomer Henry Norris Russell. DeVorkin has been the Curator at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum since 1981.
