38245 Marcospontes           Discovered 1999 Aug. 12 by C. Jacques and L. Duczmal at Wykrota Observatory-CEAMIG.
Marcos Cesar Pontes (b. 1963) is the first Brazilian to become an astronaut. He was chosen by the Brazilian Space Agency in 1998 to begin training at NASA. He graduated in 2000 in the seventeenth astronaut class as Mission Specialist.
