Ivo Černohlávek (1960-1995) pioneered the Internet in the Czech Republic, cofounded the Czech academic network and helped to establish Brno as a center in information technology. A sportsman awarded the Fair Play prize for the rescue of a colleague on wild water, he died on a river in Norway.
